Piano Teacher

Mrs. Magdalena is a concert pianist and composer. She received her Master's degree in Music from the Stanislaw Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdansk, Poland. She has over 20 years of experience teaching music students and currently works at a public school. She implements a structured teaching style. She believes in helping students in experiencing the joy of music-making by providing them with the necessary foundational knowledge and skills for success, exposing them to great and inspirational music, and providing ongoing positive encouragement. She emphasizes the importance of a solid technical foundation in order for students to develop music reading skills, but none of these matters if a student is not having fun along the way. She strives to provide students with a well-rounded musical education by tailoring lessons to their individual learning styles and goals. She prepares students for piano exams, competitions, and even extensive college preparation. Education:

Jinhi Choi

Piano Teacher

Mrs. Jinhi began studying piano at the age of five. She has two Master's degrees, one from Michigan State University and the other from Seoul National University. She also fulfilled a Ph.D. coursework program in Educational Psychology and Counseling at Seoul National University in South Korea. She had been dedicated to piano studies since she was in elementary school and aspired to be a pianist. She has taught many piano students over the years, ranging in diverse ages and skill levels. She enjoys developing personalized learning plans for each piano student. She creates a secure and supportive environment for her students. She has also studied and received a master's degree in Music Therapy. She has worked as an instructor of Music Therapy graduate studies at Ewha Womans University in Seoul. She has a warm and friendly personality, is responsible, and genuinely cares about her students. She helps students develop solid piano techniques as well as a deeper understanding of various aspects of music. She shares effective practice techniques and ideas to assist students in improving their musical understandings and challenges. She joined our studio in 2022 and is currently teaching at the Kirkland Piano Studio. Education:

Marietta Sarkisova

Piano Teacher

As a music educator and a performing artist, Ms. Marietta Sarkisova has over 30 years of experience teaching piano students. She holds a Master’s degree (MA) in children’s development and art and B.A in piano at Russia Conservatory of Music. Ms. Marietta has a genuine passion and love for teaching students of all ages and experiences. With her superior extensive and international education and pedagogical experience, she approaches the highest quality of piano lessons. Her lessons cover primary knowledge of the fundamentals, pedagogical training, high-quality piano technique, proper posture, and music theory.  Her lessons also include repertoire chosen from the student’s favorite music as well as the classical songs. She teaches a broad spectrum of repertoire from Beethoven and Chopin as well as popular music, pop, and jazz styles.  Her classes are tailored to suit the individual needs of our students. She prepares students for exams, competitions, and even extensive college preparation. She speaks Russian and English.

Sophia Chang

Piano Teacher

She has started playing piano at age of 5. Ms. Sophia has been teaching piano students for over 19 years. She has earned a B.A at National Taiwan University of Arts and received Music Theory Specialist certification at Taipei National University of the Arts. She engages creative and adaptive teaching techniques to provide students with plenty of opportunities to develop their music skills and foster their joy in the process of their growth in music. Ms. Sophia provides each student with personalized 1 to 1 lesson by using accompaniment and focusing on individual student’s needs. Her lessons cover emphasized reviewing the fundamentals of playing piano, melodic dictation, tonality, sight-reading, and theory. Her engaging, charming, patient personality and her love of music keep on student and parent wanting to come back to learn more. She also prepares student for the RCM exam and competitions. Ms. Sophia speaks Chinese and English.
